Best Distro for Asus 1000H Netbook?

Hi, so my netbook (Asus 1000H) came with XP installed. And while XP is a good system I would rather install linux on it. What would you all recommend? I would like a distro where everything is supported. The camera, wireless, ethernet, video, power functions and so on. I do like Opensuse does that work well? How about Mandriva or should i go with Ubuntu EEE? Keep in mind I also need something that is user friendly for a beginner. Thanks for the suggestions.

Pick a distro that appeals to you and install it. Any hardware issues can be resolved after that.

Pick the name of a Distro and search in Google..

for instance 'Debian EeePC' gets you a link to http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEeePC/HowTo/Install
There are quite a few different Distros that should work on that unit, since Asus was the first out the gate with the netbooks after all.

If you look at this post you will see the various Distros I have found that work on the Acer Aspire One Netbook. I would imagine most of those Distros will also have how-to pages for the ASUS EeePC units.

Also eeeuser.com has a wealth of info on the EeePCs, such as this list of custom Linux distros, and standard Distros on the EeePC.
http://wiki.eeeuser.com/#installing_operating_systems

I guess a better questions would be "Which distro will NOT work on a EeePC ?"

Did you install the latest version 8.10 ?
Did you install the drivers for those devices, or did you expect them to just magically work ?
Even windows PC's can't function without proper device drivers being installed.

Did you consult one of the how to's to see what minor tweaks if any were necessary ?

no no no
unless you have a really old computer you can't expect any one distro to support all the hardware out there out of the box

there are most likely web sites that have support for this that or the other device no way around it you will have to dig
for support for some of the devices on any newer computer

I personally use FluxFlux. It is based on PCLinuxOS. I have not used it very long but I like it so far.

Wireless took a few extra minutes to get working. I have not tried the camera but I don't use it under Windows either so it may work.

The main developer can be found pretty regularly over at Eeeuser forums. He helped me resolve my wireless issue.
