i got suse9.2 professional installed on my Acer Aspire 2023 WLMi, but the mager problem with my ATI Mobilty Radeon 9700 driver cannt be found not in the ATI site!!
A few pages on from that, you'll have to choose a product type. You should choose the Radeon drivers link, not the notebook drivers. The drivers you get are absolutely fine for a Mobility 9700 (I've got one myself).
in the ATI site they asked my to run the Check.sh file and that to check my XFree86 version but after download the file i type in the command prompt:
sh check.sh
but i'm not able to get the result of my XFree86 version!!?
anyway the driver works fin but there are something related to the 3D Acceleration.
OK, did you run fglrxconfig as part of the install. Even if you did, it might be worth running it again, and selecting some conservative values for now.
That's all working properly I think. YaST doesn't really understand about the new drivers, so it thinks 3D acceleration is still unavailable. Frame rates around 2000 is what's reported for me as well.
