Alsa w/ Mandrake 10

I just installed Mandrake 10 w/ the 2.6 kernel and heard sounds on first startup. Ever since that, though, I've heard nothing. From what I can tell, ALSA is loading just fine on boot and all statuses seem to indicate everything is functional.

Here is /etc/modules.conf:

probeall scsi_hostadapter imm ppa
probeall usb-interface usb-uhci ehci-hcd
alias ieee1394-controller ohci1394
above snd-intel8x0 snd-pcm-oss
alias sound-slot-0 snd-intel8x0
alias eth0 b44
alias char-major-195 nvidia
~

Here is /etc/modprobe.conf:

alias ieee1394-controller ohci1394
alias sound-slot-0 snd-intel8x0
alias eth0 b44
alias char-major-195-* nvidia
install scsi_hostadapter /sbin/modprobe imm; /sbin/modprobe ppa; /bin/true
install snd-intel8x0 /sbin/modprobe --first-time --ignore-install snd-intel8x0 && { /sbin/modprobe snd-pcm-oss; /bin/true; }
install usb-interface /sbin/modprobe usb-uhci; /sbin/modprobe ehci-hcd; /bin/true
remove snd-intel8x0 { /sbin/modprobe -r snd-pcm-oss; } ; /sbin/modprobe -r --first-time --ignore-remove snd-intel8x0

Here is the relevant output of lsmod: I think oss might be causing a conflict??

snd-seq-oss 31232 0

soundcore 9248 1 snd

Thanks in advance..
