I have used two different Acers and my friend has a different model. All three have worked quite well with linux. Acer changes their specs so mauch it is hard to keep up with them. Nvidia looks good and no issues with processor type or memory. Only thing is the wireless. There may be native linux drivers or use ndiswrapper with the windows inf driver. Now with ndiswrapper if you go 64 bit OS then you need the 64bit inf driver from windows. If no 64bit inf driver then go with 32bit linux os kernel install. Some things that may or may not work is the memory stick reader. Sd card reader portion should work. The memory stick may depending on the hardware. My sig list the two models I have with some info.

If it is a model you can physical touch before buying then burn you a Knoppix Live CD and boot up the display model with it and see the specs. Using the command /sbin/lspci -v provides good info on the hardware.
