What x.509 is my kernel build looking for?

When I build a kernel make returns:

Quote:
kernel/Makefile:135: *** No X.509 certificates found ***
What certificate is it looking for? I have some.

if you do not provide any useful information , there is not much we can do .

i am assuming that this is one of the Slack builds but that is a guess
that cert is for a signed kernel mod

What information do you want? I don't know what's useful.

I download latest stable kernel from kernel.org. I most recently built 4.1.5 but this message has been reported for a while.
