Angry 'make modules_install' after successful 'make' does nothing for kernel 2.6.27.36


no error reported, but no resulting tree in /lib/modules. make modules_install silently exit after line "MODPOST".

I'm confused. Any ideas?

Did you also do 'make modules'?

[ make, make modules, make modules_install ]

Yes, I also try make modules, but all modules was already compiled by make
