kernel.org - Are ck patches worth using?

I've read in a few places that the Con Kolivas kernel patches seem to speed up access time on disk, being optimized for server or desktop respectively.

Is this true, and what are y'alls experiences with those patches?

I've been using them for a few weeks now and I did notice a performance increase (without any downsides - yet). I don't use it on my server though, just for day-to-day desktop use.

The how-to/walkthrough is well writing and the installation is very simple.

If you have a Debian system, as always you can use kernel-package with renders the kernel building/installation/upgrade completely painless.
