kernel not going into probe method of the battery driver

Hi all,
i am using a battery driver named ds2782_battery.c for battery monitoring and updating. this has been enabled by me in the .config file. the chip ds2782 is acting as an i2c device with slave address 0x34 and is connected to i2c bus 2. i am able to get this from datasheet and i2cdetect utility. while the ARM processor is booting up, kernel goes into init method of the driver but not into the probe method.

i need help in solving this issue.

Ok. Its solved. I added this driver name and device's slave address in the board config file and it worked.
Instantiating the devices was the part i was missing.
static struct i2c_register_board_info mxc_i2c2_board_info[] __initdata=
{
{"ds2782",0x34},
}
