Is it possible to downgrade from 2.6.24 to 2.6.22 vanilla on ubuntu?
Hi!
I am running Ubuntu 8.04 at this moment which uses kernel version 2.6.24. This is a server edition so no gui no audio no nothing just lan card driver is needed.
I would like to use linux-vserver on that box. I know that ubuntu implements lots of patches on the kernel. Do you think that it is possible just to download a vanilla kernel, use the default settings that comes with ubuntu (I think the config file is in /boot/ isn't it?) apply the proper patch to the version, compile it and then be happy?
That would be just great but I guess it is not that simple, is it?
Thanx in advance
