Unhappy Igno Molnar's rt patch ?

Does anybody know what happened to the linux-rt series of patches? They go upto version 2.6.33-rc30 and then no more. There's no information on the wiki or anywhere else on the net. I for one really felt the latency difference between a vaniilla and a patched kernel. Any info? As far as I know, the patch has not been merged with the mainline kernel.

Work is ongoing; the latest 2.6.33 version was only released a few months back.

There is a 2.6.34 version in Paul Gortmaker's section of the git repository.

But for later kernel releases, Thomas Gleixner wrote in late December:
Quote:
The next release will be based on 2.6.37, but I'm still in the middle of a major overhaul of key components of the patch. This overhaul is necessary to make progress in mainlining the missing bits and pieces. I hope to have it ready not too long after the 2.6.37 mainline release, but no promise.

I'm currently using 2.6.33-rt7 and it is fantastic on my system (P4 1.5GHz 256MB RAM). I compiled and ran the 2.6.38-rc8 which is the latest (?) and the impact on performance was very noticeable. I think I'm gonna stick with 2.6.33-rt7 for a while until the next release.
