Compiled against 2.6.19.7 but running on 2.6.24 possible?

Hello

I have proprietary software which has been compiled against Kernel 2.6.19.7 but due to other dependencies I would like to run it on 2.6.24 Kernel.

Is it possible?

The software is an ECAT master. Thats some kind of device driver.

Thanks in advance.

No. Kernel modules should be run on exactly same kernel they were compiled for.
With user space programs you usually can get away if you build them on the older system.
