CC arch/x86/kernel/alternative.o: warning: objtool: .altinstr_replacement+0x7: call without frame pointer save/setup

I've been getting this warning when building the kernel for some time now. I don't know that it matters.

This looks somewhat similar, but without knowing (at least) your compiler and kernel version nobody can help you. In general dropping in an error/warning message without details is just pointless.

People who want to know can ask. I would assume the latest kernel (why build anything else?) and current gcc, and be correct. It's been happening over many versions of both.

Help? I didn't ask for help. I thought it could help whoever's writing this bit of the kernel.

I prefer not being overwhelmed by extraneous information. I respond.
