Zoom X4 ADSL Modem/Router and RH9

I just went out and got the Zoom X4 ADSL Modem/Router Model 5551 to use with RH9 because I could not get my usb speedtouch modem to work.
I am using an ethernet connection and followed the sparse instruction that came with the product.
When I try to get online I simply get ....Resolving host .nameofsite.com.... for about 10 seconds and then an error message telling me to check the url I entered.
Anybody have a step by step tutorial how to get this thing working.
I am sure all the vpi, vci. password and username are correct.
I run the card with /sbin/ifup eth0 and it says its up an running.

Thanks
