XCDRoast Against Kernel 2.6 and How To Copy Data CD.
Main Problem:
How to copy ordinary data / unprotected CD-R to other CD-R?
Looking in Google, the recommendation is XCD-Roast software.
I had installed this software successfully, but XCD-Roast
scan cannot detect my ordinary ATAPI CD-RW at /dev/hdb.
It ask for SCSI emulation or add manually.
Add manually failed: "Device Drive NOT FOUND"
According to XCDRoast manual I must add something like
"hdb=ide-scsi" at the end of lines inside /boot/grub/menu.lst.
Unfortunately this SCSI emulation is declared OBSOLETE at
the new kernel 2.6. The correct new paramater should be "hdb=ide-cd"
Unfortunately this new parameter IS NOT RECOGNIZED by XCD-Roast scanner.
Can the XCD-Roast team and Linux Kernel team GET TOGETHER and fix this problem, instead of fighting against each other?
How to solve this problem?
Is there any other easy to use tool for Copying ordinary data CD?
Thank you.
