wlan-ng on Fedora Core 4

I have been trying to get my prism II card working on fedora core 4 for a while and have now just hit a wall. Need some linux guru help.

I have a standard install of fedora core 4. Using a Senao SL-2511 plus. On a standard installation it boots with the orinoco drivers. I want to use the wlan-ng drivers(linux-wlan-ng-0.2.0). So i downloaded the drivers. Tried to install them and had problems.

I then tried this
1 - install the kernel-source from Fedora
2 - make sure you have a symbolic link form /usr/src/linux to /usr/src/linux
3 - copy the config file corresponding to the kernel you're running from /usr/src/linux/configs/ to a file named .config in /usr/src/linux
4 - compile the kernel (2.6.12.1) (make/make modules_install/make bzImage/make install) and take a break (make can last a couple hours, especially if you're using you computer while it's compiling)
5 - reboot and chose the new kernel in GRUB (should be linuxcustom)
6 - and now you're ready for the install of the driver
Taken from a installation on fedora core 2

This still gave me problems.

I then found this article and tried that solution. Including copying the modified pcmcia conf card.
http://lists.linux-wlan.com/pipermai...il/012379.html

Now im still getting errors such as:
/usr/src/newKernel/linux-2.6.12.1//include/asm/irq.h:16:25: error: irq_vectors.h: No such file or directory
/usr/src/newKernel/linux-2.6.12.1//include/linux/irq.h:72: error: NR_IRQS undeclared here (not in a function)
In file included from ../include/wlan/wlan_compat.h:314,
from p80211mod.c:69:
/usr/include/linux/modversions.h:1:2: error: #error Modules should never use kernel-headers system headers,
/usr/include/linux/modversions.h:2:2: error: #error but rather headers from the appropriate kernel package.
/usr/include/linux/modversions.h:3:2: error: #error Change -I/usr/src/linux/include (or similar) to
/usr/include/linux/modversions.h:4:2: error: #error -I/lib/modules/$(uname -r)/build/include
/usr/include/linux/modversions.h:5:2: error: #error to build against the currently-running kernel.

make[1]: *** [all] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/michael/Desktop/linux-wlan-ng-0.2.0/src'

Thankyou in advance for your help

Try http://heim.ifi.uio.no/~lo/linux_wlan.html
( You will probably need to run "make configure" in the linux_wlan directory )

Good luck.
