Wireless problem with F5D7010 (rev 02)

I am running slackware 10.1 with kernel 2.6.11.7 and have the broadcom bcmwl5 drivers suggested by the ndiswrapper list.

The card revision is rev 02
03:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM94306 802.11g (rev 02)

I can post the ndis output from dmesg but it looks error free.

I have tried ndiswrapper 0.8, 0.11 and 1.1 so far and every alternate driver and so far I can not get the card to work with WEP (both 64 and 128 bit)

I have tried many ways to configure the card, from the wlassistant program for kde to simply
Code:
iwconfig wlan0 essid manjos1 key open ********** mode managed
dchpcd wlan0
The card works absolutely fine without WEP but running the AP without WEP is not an option

Some people have said that the card works with non-broadcasting ssid's but I have also tried that.

Is there something i'm doing wrong or has anyone out there been able to get the card working with WEP???

well, first of all, giving us details about what you mean by " can not get the card to work with WEP" will greatly help...
What's is not working exactly? Error msg from iwconfig? Can't get ip from dhcp? your router dont see you? Or see you but dont accept the key?

Ah sorry yeah that was a little vague.

The key is accepted and displayed properly along with all of the other settings but it doesnt get an IP address from dhcpcd and if I assign a static address it still doesnt work
