Wireless IRQ, nobody cares!

I'm trying to get the integrated wireless setup on my laptop using Ndiswrapper. The lspci result for my wireless is:

02:02.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM94306 802.11g (rev 03)

and I'm using the ndiswrapper driver: bcmwl5a

dmesg gives me this message:

irq 5: nobody cared! (screaming interrupt?)
irq 5: Please try booting with acpi=off and report a bug
[<022746ed>] (usb_hcd_irq+0x0/0x4b)
[<1a8c0bb3>] (ndis_irq_th+0x0/0x170 [ndiswrapper])

iwlist scan gives me no results (although I do infact have a router in range), and trying to activate the card using the network device control gives me this error:

Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (8B2A) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; Invalid argument.

This happened on Gentoo and Fedora 2, so I assume it's not distro specific.

Anybody know what might possibly be wrong?

Well through massive searching of this forum I found out that all of this is caused by needing a simple 0x in front of your WEP key when you enter it. Must be some Fedora Core 2 thing. Anyhew, now that I can cleanly type ifup wlan0 it doesn't connect, it just sits there and never grabs an IP. Any ideas what could cause this?

you'll have to have dhcp configured if you get one from a server. if not you'll have to assign one to the interface. Can't tell if it's different with wl-tools;
ifconfig eth0 192.168.2.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 up ..as example wtih ethernet.

sl mritch.

Doesn't seem to do anything. It sets an IP in ifconfig and all, but there's no packets being passed.
