Will this controller work with Linux?

http://www.saitekusa.com/usa/prod/P880.htm

I saw this at a store in the mall, and I wanted to get it, but it has this "shift" thing, which seems non-standard. It comes with a drivers CD, and while they don't say it, it sounds like this function doesn't work on Windows without drivers (and, suprise, surprise, the drivers aren't for Linux). Linux's hardware detection is much better, so I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it works?

I'm using SUSE Linux 9.3 Professional.

seems like it might work fine:

it worked like a peach, no mucking around involved.

the game pad DOES work. I tested it in both Windows XP and in MEPIS Linux, and they had no problems
