Why canīt I view my DVR Cameras from another Internet Server?
Dear Linux Comunity Friends, I have a DVR with a Linux Operating System, I have a problem viewing my cameras from another internet server that is not the Internet Server where my DVR is. For example I have spoken with my internet provider and checked DNS, Gateways, ports and all the numbers that I configue my DVR, which has a Linux Operating System, and even made the updates, but still I cannot view my cameras from outside this same internet provider. Please help me find a solution to my problem.
It is not clear what you mean. First you talk about internet servers, then you talk about internet providers. What are you actually trying to do ?
An internet server is (in this case I think) a piece of hardware, a computer.
An internet provider is the company that deals with the network.
Firstly, your internet provider must allow you to run a server (the DVR). They must allow the ports to be used on their network. So from a web browser (presumably) you can access the content provided by the DVR.
Are you saying you cannot access the DVR from a different place, a different provider, or both ?
Or are you saying that you can't access the DVR from another server ? Which would need explaining further.
Do you have a fixed ip address ? Do you have a dynamic ip address with a dynamic DNS service set up ?
Thank you Mr. Smoker for answering quick, my internet server is OK in other words my computer desktop is okey, but I am having problems connecting to my DVR from another internet provider, I have a dynamic Ip address and a dynamic dns service, I have already spoken to my internet provider so they have open the ports that i need and also have given me the correct numbers to configue my dvr gateway, ip, dns, etc. But when I try to see my cameras for example from another country, I cant see them.
Please advice,
Sincerely
Dj

Who is your internet provider ?
What is the domain name that you use to access the DVR ? (you can private message that to me if you want it kept off the forum)
Do you have a router between the DVR and the phone line ?
Can you access the DVR ok from any machines at all, and where are they located ?
