I'm going nuts trying to find BIOS recovery files at Intel.
All I can find is instructions referring to "the .bio file you downloaded" but I can't find these files anywhere!
It's probably right in front of me but I can't see it. The board is a DH77DD and it's only hope is BIOS recovery.

We're happy to help with specific problems, but this isn't Linux related; you're asking us to look up a web-link for you. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/
Find your board there. Once done, click it, and you should see the link.
It's Linux related in that the box runs Linux; and I just spent 2 hours on the Intel site unsuccessfully.
And you're saying I can't ask for that kind of help here?
Seriously?
The OS has zero bearing on BIOS. This isn't related to getting the box running or dealing with a hardware problem with Linux, but finding a web link for you.

You can, of course, ask for whatever you'd like. But this isn't for help in getting Linux to run on this box, but rather you'd like us to look up a web link for you. If you put your board model into the search box on the link I already provided (which you probably had from your 2 hours of searching), you'd see the BIOS download on a list with other drivers.
However...according to Intel, there IS no such model#, with the closest being DH77DF.
BIOS recovery.. last time I flashed a BIOS I was told by the instructions to save the old BIOS while doing that procedure, and have never heard of being able to get any kind of recovery for BIOS from intel or anywhere else, because the BIOS is written for the specif MotherBoard by the 'who ever puts it out on the market". if it is in a pc then that company ie, DELL, HP, and others have their BIOS written to curtail to do whatever it is they want their PC/Laptop to be able to do. That is why most will find if they get a MO off the 3rd party like GigaByte they will have a different BIOS options setup etc... it is hard to match what your BIOS was set up to do with your MotherBoard off a generic BIOS recovery.
but I could be wrong
