What file system best for SMR harddrive

Hi.

I consider phurcasing a couple of SMR drives for general storage and backup. I do not intending using those for raid purposes.

The question I have is due to the poorer performance compared to CMR harddrives : What file system / mount options would be the best choice in term of write performance ?

Some sources already known to me:

This is the only relevant post on this forum, from 2014

This year old post on Reddit, unfortunately it points to resolving the question in the future so no definitive answer here

Article about Zonefs. Reading this, I didn't get the impression that it is ment for personal computers but rather for big cloud storages.

This article from 2017: Evolving ext4 for SMR drives.
However, it doesn't say anything about what mount options.

Droddling about ext4-lazy
So I continue to search the web for what mount option I might use for ext4-lazy, and I found this page:
https://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man5/ext4.5.html

It state:
Quote:
init_itable=n
The lazy itable init code will wait n times the number of milliseconds it took to zero out the previous block group's inode table. This minimizes the impact on system performance while the file system's inode table is being initialized.
However, it doesn't inform what value of init_itable will make sense, what factors to considers in order to choose a number.

I also read some about NILFS2, but I don't find much information that tell how it performs on SMR drives compared to other file systems.

See the web testing sites but maybe use the flash file system. Guess it depends more on the use
