WD 1600me not detected?

Hi,
My passport is not detected or listed in /dev (sda*)
I've tried different kernels on my slack 12.2 no luck.
Also disabled hal etc, no luck.

The only thing I can figure from dmesg is

Code:
Failed initialization of WD-7000 scsi card!
Same prob on multiple computers, and with slack 12.1

I was wondering if it's a power issue, but I had windows on one
computer a while back and it worked fine, now have slack on that
computer and it doesn't.

Also briefly had fedora (latest) on that computer and was unable to
mount it, although I didn't look into it before going back to slack.

Any ideas or further info I could provide?

Output of dmesg and lsusb:
Code:

I set up slack 12.1 on another computer today.
Just as an afterthought, I plugged in the usb drive and in setup I found it in
/dev mounted it and rummaged around in it no prob.

So later I rebooted my other computer with a slack 12.2 disk and in setup terminal, it
wasn't there.

So something's different between 12.1 and 12.2.

Hopefully this will give someone an idea what's going on. Any help would be appreciated!
