Wacom sketchpad button gets in the way

I have a Wacom sketchpad here with the surface and two buttons.

The problem is I am used to drawing on paper and I like to rest my hand all over the surface and I keep pressing the buttons by accident. One of them has no effect but the other brings up a menu that we usually expect from the mouse right button. That is a showstopper. How can I deactivate that button?

I am using MyPaint (because I really like the brushes) and it doesn't offer much in the way of configuration.

I probably don't have the same pad as you, and I use Krita, but xsetwacom will likely be the tool.

See what it calls your device
Code:
xsetwacom list
See everything it can set
Code:
xsetwacom -s --get "Wacom Intuos S Pad pad" all
This turns off the 1st button on mine
Code:
xsetwacom set "Wacom Intuos S Pad pad" "Button" "1" ""
Once you get the right functions set for the buttons, put the commands in your shell startup scripts so they stick at next reboot.
