It depends on what you consider "like that". From any console / terminal there is find and locate, or which.

$ which X
/usr/bin/X

$ find /usr/bin/ -iname 'x'
/usr/bin/X

$ locate bin/X
/usr/bin/X
/usr/bin/X11
/usr/bin/Xorg

I fixed it. It turns out I just had to upgrade from Stretch to Buster. I'm guessing that this problem was caused by my previous move in the reverse direction. I must have botched the Buster->Stretch switch
