Unhappy video card


hello i hope somebody can help i want to play quake 3 i have install the game ok but it will not run i get a Little mess about
"+set r_allowSoftwareGL 1" how do i use this command it say you use it when starting the game and the other thing i would like to install new geforce 3 t200 video card drivers so i could run it in3d mode
i have been using windows for years but linux is new i would like to get rid of Microsoft .

if you can help your a star or may be next time i got a problem

p.s i am a bit thick so give it to me the easy way + how to get commands to work

you need to get the nvidia driver package from nvidia and install it

there are numerous posts here on this very subject

but if you get stuck don't hesitate to ask again

i suspect that it might sort out both problems

i got a redeon 9000 pro but 3d is enable in display
but now i get is sys-error glimp-init could not open subsystem

miss some bits
sys-error glimp-init could not load OpenGL subsystem
this is type quake3 in terminal

hmmmm

ATI card!

I'm afraid my experience runs to nvidia g-force cards only.

fine i still got a geforce 3 card but i do not under stand may be a bit thick its a bit greek
