Video Capture Card

Hi
I have opensuse 10.2 and have installed a video capture card (Leadtek Winfast TV2000Xp rm) and need to get it working. The board is recognised by the system but I don't know what is missing - does a driver have to be installed - if so how?

Dah!, you need a module (driver) in order for the computer to talk to the card. You need to give more information of stating the model of the card. I and others need to know the chip the card actually uses. Then we can make suggests on the setup.

Hi Electro
The card is Leadtek Winfast TV2000Xp rm with an 878 chip which uses a bttv driver. This is installed, but still no video. I have tried yaw, KDETV and myth - alas no video yet !Any further advice? I am wondering if there is something else I could try.

Try using xawtv or tvtime. If it is a recent card, it could have C23XX88 chip that may need additional options if the module does not detect the card properly.

If you can, post the complete logs and post the print out of /sbin/lspci.
