VIA82xx alsaconf error

I'm trying to get both my soundcards working. The onboard one is a Via82xx, the pci version is a Live!.
The Live can be easily configured with alsaconf (emu10k1) and works fine. Trying to do the same with the VIA (making sure it works before trying to get them both working) gives me some errors:

Code:
Running update-modules...
Loading driver...
Setting up ALSA...* /etc/init.d/alsa-utils: Warning: 'alsactl restore' failed with error message 'No state is present for card V8237'.
.
Setting default volumes...

===============================================================================

Now ALSA is ready to use.
For adjustment of volumes, use your favorite mixer.

 Have a lot of fun!
Well not much fun yet with this card

During config alsaconf doesn't error, it's what I find in the console later.

Any clues what might be wrong?

It doesn't look like an error, just a warning. It shouldn't prohibit your card from working altogether...
It appears that there is no previous "state" for your VIA card, but you should be able to set one.
Is any sound coming through on the card when you do a sound test?

Yes sound is working. The message displays aswell while booting (no mather if I have the emu10k1 set or the via using alsaconf).
Strange thing is that kmix shows way less slides for the Via but that could have to do with the difference in the cards.
Since it's working I guess it could be ignored but well I just hate warnings!

Well, time to get them both working at the same time (via=headset Live=system) but I've got a thread about that in the debian forum and don't want to double post.

Thanx
