usb hdd, automounting in new location every boot

hi!

really hope someone has the answer to this

well: i have an external usb/firewire hdd, assigned as /dev/sda1...
everytime i boot, its mount location changes in /etc/fstab... i want to mount it in /media/external1, but it really wants to mount in /media/iee1394disk instead... and on every boot, this changes to /media/iee1394disk1 (2,3,4... and so on)

how can i disable this foolish behavior?
