usb drive not mounting

Hello all. got a small problem in slackware 12.2. im pretty sure this is a policy problem with the user. ive got two users, root and then my general use account. under root i have no problem accessing my usb drive but under my other account i get this error:

A security policy in place prevents this sender from sending this message to this recipient, see message bus configuration file (rejected message had interface "org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume" member "Mount" error name "(unset)" destination "org.freedesktop.Hal")

Does anyone how how i can fix this? Any help would be great. Thanks in advance!

For anyone with the same problem i figured it out. The user needs to be in the group "plugdev". I did this, restarted my computer and it worked fine.

Hi,

Just a note to new users. For 'adduser' you will add your user to the 'users' then you will be prompted for additional groups. If you press the up arrow you will get a suggested groups list. Just press return or edit the line then return as these groups are 'floppy audio video cdrom plugdev'.

BTW, this is prompted to you on the screen. So read those screens!
