USB-B cable question

Sorry - I know this isn't linux-related but I'm stuck with a new printer (Samsung Ml-2571n) and the USB cable I have doesn't fit - the aperture at the B end is too large for the central terminal. I thought these things were standard but seemingly not. Do these things come with different sizes of USB-B?

Sorry to reply to myself, but immediately after posting I realized that the problem was the plastic housing of the plug, which was effectively making it too short. I cut off some of the plastic and now it works!
