Here is my mtab:

When I try to mount /dev/pts it says it already is mounted-good right? So it looks to me as though I have the drivers installed and everything shows up where it should as far as I know.
I can't get my USB mouse to work and the only other USB device I have to try is this camera: a Toshiba PDR-3330. On linux-usb.org there is no driver listed for it specifically. I haven't tried to install it but if I can't get a mouse to work how will a camera?
1)Do I need a driver for it or will it just show up as a mass-storage device?
2)How do I look at the filesystem that is mounted at /dev/pts.
3)I have Device ID's & device mappings for Toshiba devices but what should I do with them?
4)I booted with the camera connected but as I understand it 'hotplugging' should detect it anyway right?
5)How can I test USB?
Kernel is 2.4.20-xfs
The posts on Linux-USB date back two years on the average. I have to wonder how much is still pertinent. This Linux-USB business has me baffled. I actually have much more info than I know what to do with it. Any insight at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
