usb 2 pc card?

Hey all, I installed debian today (the kernel is 2.4.18-bf2.4) and I've finally got almost everything working...except my usb 2 pcmcia card. So far I can tell that it knows the card is there, but hasn't a clue what it is. I intend to hook up my usb external hard drive here, but I really have no idea how to go about getting linux to recognize the pcmcia card as usb 2 ports. I've looked around and found little info, and what I have found hasn't been helpful...any ideas?

Also, I tried to do a /sbin/lspci like the FAQ said but got an error :-/

Code:
# cardctl config
Socket 0:
  Vcc 3.3V Vpp1 3.3V Vpp2 3.3V
  interface type is "cardbus"
  function 0:
  function 1:
  function 2:
Socket 1:
  not configured

# cardctl ident
Socket 0:
  no product info available
  PCI id: 0x1033, 0x0035
Socket 1:
  no product info available

what kind pcmcia usb card is it?
It sounds like you trying to get your pcmcia card working on you laptop in order to get your usb external device working.
If that's the case, i think you need a driver for your pcmcia card. check with the company.

It's an IOGear GPU202 USB 2.0 2-Port CardBus Card...I checked the company's page but they don't have any drivers for this card...it works with 'windows drivers' :-/

Edit: let me clarify - they have windows and osx drivers...that's about it
