I am looking to buy some USB 2.0 bridged cable
which let me to exchange large peaces of data (~ 50 Gb)
between my RHEL4 x86_64 desktop and Windows XP
laptop. Could someone recommend me specific
USB 2.0 bridged cable model which is proven to work
with linux computer.

Any your advise regarding this topic would be greatly

Sorry but the idea to use USB is very strange to me, why can't you use a crossover ethernet cable?

I do not have much experience in networking.
Will crossover ethernet cable provide a speady data
transition between two computers? I need everyday
data backup from my windows machines to my linux computer.
It is around 50 Gb. After I link both computers with this cable
what shall I do on linux machine and what shall I do on
windows machines to make the simple network work?
Do I need to install special software?

Thanks,

John
