US Robotics Driver ??


Hello
I have an external modem" USRobotics 56k faxmodem USB " and I send a message to it's company to get the driver for it but they say " there is no driver for it under Linux " !! so what can I do is there any driver for it , help me .

I think you may not need a driver for that external modem if it is serial and not usb. For a serial modem the problem is to find the port it is using. If your modem is plugged into a serial port on your computer, then it is either ttyS0(COM1) or ttyS1(COM2) and you probably just need to plug one of those into the modem configuration tool you use.

What distro of Linux are you using and what Desktop (KDE or Gnome?) This will tell us what programs to tell you to use to configure your dialup.

means that it is USB.

You wouldn't have needed a driver if it had been RS-232 serial, but there would be several other things to set up. USB is probably the same in this regard. Which dialler have you used so far?

I will try this code but i don't have any connect with the internet under Linux

my distro is Ubuntu and I use Gnome .
