Update Issues

I'm having trouble updating my Ubuntu Linux Mint window server. When the download begins the icon pops up and states that I have to manually run 'sudo dpkg--configue-a'. What steps do I take to resolve this problem?
I want to say THANKS for helping me on the dvd issue.
