Update Edgy to Feisty kills buss mouse

A clean install of Ubuntu Gutsy I got as far as the widow with examples and install. Could not move the buss mouse. It was okay on win 98. I did a clean install of an older edgy and that was okay I then did an upgrade to Feisty and that also killed the mouse.

I think the problem is that this is my older system with a socket 7 asus board (normally 230Mhz max) with a 450MHz gray upgrade to amdK2-6plus. Possibly the kernel no longer supports that chipset, any comments?

Regards Ian.

you need to configur the xorg part of the mouse . do a mouseconfig that is the problem.and then the xserver can use it.
