unable to use cd writer

hi everyone,
i am a newbie to linux
i have recently installed redhat linux 9 on my machine, today i removed my cdrom and attached a cd writer to my machine for burning some cd, i was unable to do it
can any one help me out
how shall i go about to burn the cd,

i have just attached th cd writer and started my computer , now what shall i do to accomplish my task of burning the cd

Hi,
You must use a program to burn CDs, just as It's done in Windows, with Nero, for instance.
Use K3b, it is a very convenient program. There must be a rpm (program for RedHat) to be
found. Go to sites like this one : http://rpmfind.net/
but there are other sites, as well. Use google to find them.

I belive that RH9 comes with a cdwriter fixture called x-cd-roast , you can use that one .
If login in kde , try the menu button and surf you will find the cd writer option
