udev problem

Hello,

I'm running FC6, kernel 2.6.16.33 with Xen under a Lenovo notebook. When Linux boots, udev is getting stuck in the middle of creating the device tree...

I'm pretty new to linux, I would like to recognize the device that makes the system hang, and to disable it.

So,
1. How do I recognize the misbehaving device?
2. How do I disable the loading of the driver in udev?

Btw, Pressing ^Z when the system hangs at boot time solves the problem

Thanks for your help!

dmesg

gives you the system logging, may be the last lines of its output help you.

If you can point out what it is, you can change the configuration file of udev so that it will no longer scan for the hardware that makes the hanging. It's probably a hardware of your computer that does not like to be tested. It will be recognised by udev in another way or by modprobe.
