The Hauppauge PVR-250, PVR-350 do not use BTTV chips. They use Philips video capture chips.
Almost all video capture cards work if the you are using 2.6.x kernel version. My LifeView FlyVideo 3000FM works very well though I have not yet used MythTV.
I use the Wintv PVR cards and it does use brook tree Television (bttv) drivers you might be thinking of the Chipset on the WinTV PVR' Conexant CX23415/CX23416 used for MPEG encoding that uses the IVTV drivers
For proof
1. Taken from http://ivtv.sourceforge.net/
TV tuner Is produced as part of the bttv driver, it is recommended to compile it as a module. Most distros have bttv support enbaled.
<M> "BT848" Video4Linux module in the kernel
on your own machine
goto
/usr/src/linux-2.6*/Documentation/video4linux/CARDLIST.bttv
you will see the Hauppauge WinTV PRV listed there
card=80 - Hauppauge WinTV PVR
The list is only for cards that use bttv
i don't know about that card inparticular, but i know that haupage use BOTH chipsets on the same model cards. there are WinTV GO's around with the bt878 (i.e. mine) whilst others are using saa71somethingorotheriforgetthenumberbit. This isn't deemed a problem or even relevant by haupage, as their drivers appear handle them the same anyway.
My PVR-250 (model 980) uses Philips SAA7114 for the video decoder and Conexant CX23416 for the MPEG-1/MPEG-2 encoder. No, I was not thinking of the Conexant CX23415/CX23416 chips. I'm not saying that I have problems, but you may need to update your list and make sure the chip that is used for each video capture card is accurate.
Ok, Thanks for your input..What V4L driver do you use for your WinTV PVR? So I can list it in the TV Tuner cards that work under linux. Mine uses what I said above
Thank you,

Like I said in my previous post. For PVR-250 (model 980), I used saa7115 (video decoder), ivtv (MPEG-1/MPEG-2 encoder), and msp3400 (audio) module. I do not have PVR-350 (model 990), but it will use the same modules.
You may want to add a special note on your list that V4L developer has discontinue supporting 2.4.x kernel version, but the V4L developer is supporting the 2.6.x kernel version.
Thanks for the input on some the different WinTV versions about the newer WinTV PVR *50 cards use the saa7115. Added the cards and others to the new version of the doc and added this topic as a link in the Biliography:
