Have you checked the printing HOWTO?

http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Printing-HOWTO/

I use CUPS and its quite nice, I'd recommend it. Have you checked the RedHat documentation to see what they recommend?

No luck. linuxprinting.org has not listed the compaq ij650 printer in its printer database.
Thank you.

Sorry to hear that. A websearch for "linux compaq ij650' does not give any very promising links either. If you are prepared to install Windows on another computer you could probably set up an SMB server and print using a Samba client. I have never tried this myself, but I can't see why it wouldn't work. Otherwise, I guess it's time to buy a new printer, but check if it's in the database before you buy.

Mark.

Yes, it looks like a new printer must be got, as this printer doesn't seem to have support for Linux. Thank you anyway, for trying to help me.
