SuSE YaST2 Install hangs on probing hard drive controllers

Greetings,

I am completely **stumped** on how to STOP SuSE's YaST2 from Probing the Hard Drive Controllers during a Fresh Install. (Hangs the system HARD every time)

HW: Supermicro 6010H 1U Server w/ 2x P3-9.3mhz, 2Gb RAM, 2x 36G SCSI drives, on-board AIC-7899 SCSI, ATAPI CDROM as Master on on 2nd IDE, floppy.

SW: SuSE 8.1 Enterprise OpenExchange Server install disk.

Things I've tried during the inital boot to pass to the kernal:

idex=noprobe hdx=none
idex=noprobe, hdx=none
noprobe
--noprobe
hda=noprobe hdb=noprobe
hda=noprobe, hdb=noprobe
ide0=noprobe hdx=none
ide0=noprobe, hdx=none
