suse 9.3 - can't get out of 640x480 screen size...help!!

i just installed suse 9.3 and all seems to be fine, except the display. it's running at 640x480 and when i right click the desktop and go to configure desktop, select monitor, i can change it to 1152 but can't hit "apply". is there another short cut or Alt-a to apply settings when a screen is open? I've tried moving the menu around and resizing doesn't help either. PLEASE HELP!!!

Try ctrl-alt- then + or - from keypad, that might do it. Oh, have you installed your video card drivers?

Try www.ati.com and look for the linux drivers that are compatible with your video card. Then, follow the install instructions (they may be different for suse, so at the download page there may be a SUSE install how-to.
