Angry SUSE 9.1 install problems with Maxtor Serial ATA/150 pci card but my old 9.0 found it

I'm upgrading from a downloaded iso image of SUse 9.1 (i386) using Suse 9.0. I started going thru the install process but the OS could not find the PCI controller card. Its a Maxtor SATA150/Ultra 133 combo card but my hard drive is IDE.

I actually have the same issue. Near as I can tell, the SUSE 9.1 sata_promise driver(The maxtor card is a promise card under the wrapper, though not sure which one) finds 2 of the 3 interfaces. Unfortunately my drive is on the 3rd interface of the controller.

Being fairly new a this I am not sure where to turn, as I cant find a 9.1 driver on either the Maxtor or Promise site.

Any thoughts.

??

akire1020; try looking in RH hardware database / firmware. thought saw reference to that affect they may have drivers for drives.
