I did a reinstall of debian lenny because I wanted to try out the GUI install, but It froze half way through. So I did a normal install, and it went fine, but now after I choose the kernel from grub, I get the part where it says
Code:
Uncompressing linux...
Loading, please wait...
Then it locks up. Does absolutely nothing. I've googled around and found out it (grub) may be identifying my hard drive as sda instead of hda. I've checked the partitions out with my gparted cd, and it's identifying the disk as sda, which it isn't. I've had this problem before, I changed my grub boot line to root=/dev/sda, but then I couldn't mount any cd's, flash drives, etc..I just had a empty partition for a while and tried again later (a couple of weeks), then it worked.
Anyone know how to fix this? Or why it happened?
Thanks for any help.
