strange problem with ljet4 printer driver
I have a Red Hat 9 desktop system. For the time being, I have
a directly connected HP LaserJet 4L printer (parallel port).
I set this up by using Red Hat's cute GUI tool (System Settings > Printing).
I selected my printer (LaserJet 4L), and the recommended driver, "ljet4".
But when I print a page, I get a piece of paper out of the printer that has
the upper left-hand quarter of the page I printed, blown up to take up
the whole 8.5 X 11 piece of paper. When I select a different driver
from the listing in the GUI tool, "omni", printing seems to work, but
the margins are funny, and the dithering doesn't quite seem right.
I have a LaserJet 4L, RH seems to think that "ljet4" is the right driver,
and I'd like to use the driver that is most specific to my hardware.
Why does this driver behave in this odd way?
Thanks.
