Im find trouble on init my card SB32 AWE(EMU8000).
Device is not defined in sb_card.c (ISAPNP_VENDOR etc.).
My card have ISAPNP_DEVICE = 0x0049 functions is same to 0x0044.
Alsa and oss not have this device
The easiest solution would be to buy a new PCI-based soundcard. By "new" I do not mean year 2005 models but soundcards like Soundblaster 64 or 128 PCI. They are effortless to make work either with OSS ord ALSA. Nowadays you should almost be able to get these cards for free.
I used a SB Awe 32 and making it work took quite a bit of time and patience. I was using OSS at that time, so with new ALSA versions you might have better luck.
