SMP Kernel Help

I just got a Dual Intel Pentium 3 server. I've havent ever done anything with mulit proc. under linux. I havent ever recompiled the kernel to do multi proc. I've tried searching the forums here, I havent found anything that gives any details on how to recompile the kernel for multi processing.

I would like a good step by step instruction on how to do it. Plus i would appreciate links to some good how-to sites, i'm kinda new to linux.

Thanks much

When you configure the kernel
Under processor type/features make sure to enable
Symmetric Multi-Processing support
