Smartdisk Firefly 20GB USB

I'm considering buying a Smartdisk Firefly 20GB USB 2.0 but have found no resources on the web about compatibility. (But if I do buy it and get it to work, i'll put in a HCL entry!!!) Isn't Linux USB support pretty generic for external hard drives? That is, one driver fits all?
