shut down

Hello,

I am using suse 8.0
when I try to shut down my machine I get this message:
Skipped services in run level 0: personal-firewall inital
and then it stuck.

what should I do?

are you able to shutdown the machine from the shell?
i.e. shutdown now -r ?

from the looks of it init is skipping its own runlevel of 0. therefore reporting skipped services.
I could be wrong.
