Setup redhat cluster (absolute newbie)

I've been using linux for about 6 months. I know enough to do the basics. But what I'm looking to do is set up a web server using a cluster of 4 nearly identical low-end machines. These are pentium III 500 MHz computers, nothing special. I would like to create a cluster on these using RedHat 9. Everything I have read about setting up a cluster is saying that I need a shared file system... does this mean I need a NAS unit?? can't I just use the hard drives on each computer, or a secondary HD on one of the nodes? Again, I am an absolute newbie, so I need some type of step-by-step on how to set this up. Any help is much appreciated, thanks.
